HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS YEAR 2010

This is my disclaimer for not keeping my blog updated! We have had a very eventful year thus far, the highlight was when Michael married Hillary on May 31st. Richard and I have added two adorable grandchildren, for a total of 13. We had a fun summer with Aidan and his adventure at BYU football camp and our big trip back to Minneapolis for the Hogan Family Reunion. What a fun time we have had and now we look forward to school starting and getting back to our schedules. Life is good and we are happy for all the ups and downs because that is how we grow and learn.

We just returned from a Hogan Family Reunion in Minneapolis. We had a fun time and it was so nice to have everyone there.

The day of the Princess Birthday Parties are over!

Seth celebrated his 7th Birthday party with wild things. It is sad when you are afraid to attend your own grandson's party. But the snake did me in. I finally got brave and actually touched it. I mostly stayed in the corner away from the animals. I am so outnumbered with nine grandsons and only two granddaughters.

What We Have Been Up To

It sure was a busy summer but we had a great one. Here are some of the things we did this year.

Stacey and Steven had their second boy Mattheson Clarke Decker born on June 24th. We are all happy to have the new arrival.

Then Geralyn and Andrews oldest Tyson was baptized.

Then we all went down to St. George for a week, we all had fun playing at the pool and relaxing.

Then we took the boys to the Air Force Base Museum and then to the Capitol. All the boys said it was the best day ever. They loved seeing all the planes and playing around there.

Then we went up to Wyoming for Aidan's baptism.

Aidan comes for a visit!

It has been raining here lately so all of us went to the mall and spent the whole day shopping! sometimes it is alot of work with 8 grandkids running around, but we were brave! We had some pictures of Nathan taken! He is even cuter than the pictures!

It has been a long time since I have updated my blog! Life just goes by so fast with so many things to do. As soon as school was out for the grandchildren we treated them to the movie "UP". We had a good time! I think Anderson ate the whole bucket of popcorn. We are waiting for number 10 grand baby to arrive any day now.

Tyson's New Suit

Tyson has been wanting a suit to wear to church for a long time. Geralyn found this grey pinstripe at target and Andrew has one just like it. Tyson was so cute on Sunday. He would not take off the suit jacket at all, even when we went to Stephanie and Garrett's for dinner he kept it on. He was so proper and quiet all day long. I thought he real will make a great missionary! He already likes the ties!

Baby Blessing

Nathan Garrett Anderson had his baby blessing on Sunday March 29th. He is such a sweet baby! He never cried at all and slept through most of church.

Lullabies

Richard has written lullabies for all the grandchildren. They are really beautiful and we made copies for each of them for Christmas, but we keep adding to it. He has written one for Nathan and the two in the oven are still in progress. We want to thank Andrew for the cover!

We are so hoping that Geralyn has a little girl and we won't find out until the end of May! I need to even out all the Grandson's, they are in the lead 8 to 2. We want a little princess!

Celine Concert

We were blessed with a new Grandbaby, Nathan Garrett Andersen! Stephanie and baby are doing fine. She took Nathan for his two week check yesterday and he now weighs 8lbs 4 ounces and the doctor said maybe he could go longer between feedings.
What a joy they are for us. It is fun to hold a little baby again, he makes you forget about all of your troubles.

With the rushing around this Christmas and trying to get everything done, I have neglected my blog. We have had a wonderful Christmas and are grateful for all the blessings we have received. Time seems to go by so fast for me now! I guess I am really old. We have a winter wonderland outside so the grandkids are playing the WII inside. Do you know how hard it is to get 8 grandchildren to smile at one time! NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE!

NANNY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY

Every year I have a fun Halloween party for my grandchildren. They have such a good time and they all help by decorating and helping me plan the games. This year we had Supergirls, Ironman, Spiderman, Lollipop kid, and a little bear! Alex was so cute when he came to the front door in his bear costume! I love doing this for them they truly are the joy in my life!

It has taken me a long time to get back to may blog. We will all miss Rob so very much, and our thoughts and prayers will be with Marla and the whole Hogan Family. I read a quote by Neal A. Maxwell that said, "At funerals our tears are genuine, but not because of termination-rather because of interruption. Though just as wet, our tears are not of despair but are of appreciation and anticipation. Yes, for disciples, the closing of a grave is but the closing of a door which later will be flung open with rejoicing." We all will wait with great anticipation for that great door to open!

Our beloved Rob is in intensive care in a Minneapolis hospital and we are all concerned for the family. We want everyone to know that we have you all in our thoughts and prayers this very day. I like this quote by President Hinckley, "If as a people we will build and sustain one another, the Lord will bless us with the strength to weather every storm and continue to move forward through every adversity."

DAD COMES FOR A VISIT

It was great to have Dad and Mary and Gordon come for a visit. They brought Tina out to attend BYU. We spend much of the week watching political news and keeping our eyes on the markets. We were all pleased with the choice of Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate. We all thought she hit it out of the ballpark at the Republican National Convention.

We were so excited to have Aidan for a few days. He is such a great kid! We went to Chuck-E-Cheese and Richard took him to "Journey to the center of the Earth". Aidan said that it was awesome! He had broken his glasses just before he came so we went shopping for a new pair. Thank goodness for Lens Crafters, they were ready in an hour. School will start soon for him and we miss him lots!

BABY SITTING LITTLE ALEX

Richard and I are baby sitting Alex for a week, while the rest of the Allgaier's are in Maryland. He even came with an instructional manual on how to take good care of him. Geralyn put it together for us! So far so good. He slept all night long last night so Richard and I feel pretty good about our parenting skills. We will se what tonight brings.

A Hard Day at the Pool!

Julie took Anderson to the pool today and after his daddy Steve picked him up he brought him to our house and he fell asleep immediately. The pool just tuckered him out.

Friday Night Sleepover

Friday night Richard and I had a sleep-over in a big tent in the backyard. We had a great time! Ethan wanted to go home at 11:30p.m. so after his Daddycame and picked him up I went to bed in my own bed and left Richard in the tent with the other grandkids. The next morning we got up and went to Krispy Kreme Donuts for a real sugar High.

A Week in St. George

In early July, we spent a week at the Green Valley Resort in St. George. Geralyn, Andrew and the boys, Steve, Stacey and Anderson, and Julie were all able to come down. We were sorry that Mike, and Garrett, Stephanie and the girls couldn't be with us. We had a wonderful time swimming and relaxing.

Richard and Andrew were able to get in a couple rounds of golf. Richard liked the churches where there were golf carts parked outside on Sunday with the golf clubs all ready to go. What a great way to hold priesthood meetings!

Since the boys are crazy about dinosaurs, Susan and Richard took them to the dinosaur museum in St. George. A few years ago, they were excavating and came across thousands of dinosaur footprints preserved in the sand.

Richard's Missionary

Richard is with Enoch Miles in 1968 outside of the Northshore Stake Center in Wilmette, Illinois just north of Chicago. Enoch baptized Richard in 1968. He was transferred shortly after that and they lost track of each other until last March when Enoch emailed Richard and they were able to have a tearful and joyful get together for the first time in 40 years. They met at the MTC where the Miles were preparing to leave for a mission in Ghana.

My First Blog

This is my first blog and Stacey has been doing all the work to get me set up. I would highly recommend that you old people use the younger ones to help you with your blog. Today I have just been babysitting since little Seth had his ear surgery. He is doing good and we can't wait to see what he will look like when the bandages come off. I am preparing for the the Fourth of July fun so there will be more posts to come.
